How to reset your Magento Admin Password
Do the following:

  1. cPanel -> phpMyAdmin or MySQL Manager
  2. Select Magento database and find the 'admin_user' table
  3. Rreplace your old password with a new password.Also change your new password in the MD5 ('sGnewpass') function and change *AdminUsername* to your Magento admin username.

How to solve a Magento 'Access Denied' issue

  1. Log out from your admin panel and log back in again.
  2. Reset the Magento admin privileges:  System -> Permissions -> Roles -> Administrators
  3. Click on the 'Role Resources' options shown on the left of screen to make sure your 'Resource Access' is set to 'All’.
  4. Click on the 'Save Role' button and you're all good to go.  Magento admin permissions is reset. 

How to create Search Engine Friendly URLs for Magento

  1. Log onto the Magento administration section -> click on the 'Configuration' button.
  2. From the sub-navigation panel on the left, switch to 'Web Page' under the system navigation menu. You should see some blue lines once the page loads, representing closed options tablets.
  3. Click on the ‘Search Engines Optimization’ tab->  turn the 'Use Web Server Rewrites' option on (select and mark as 'Yes').
  4. Click on the 'Save Config' button.

Managing your Magento site redirects

It's highly recommended to redirect your website visitors to open your Magento store through 'www.'-alias only.

  1. Open your .htaccess file which is located in the Magento root.
  2. Search for the 'RewriteEngine'.
  3. Add the following code:
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain.com$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
  4. Save .htaccess file
  5. Login onto your Magento admin
  6. Go to System -> Configuration -> Web.
  7. Click on the "Unsecure" tab -> change the base URL option from http://yourdomain.com to http://www.yourdomain.com.
  8. Click on the 'Save Config' button

How to  clear Magento Cache

Magento cache folder is located in Magento installation directory -> /var/cache

  1. Delete the folder.
  2. Go to Magento admin System -> select 'Cache Management' and 'Clear All Cache'.
